About the role:
The Building Strong Foundations Child and Family Health Nurse provides culturally safe and informed child and family health nursing services to Aboriginal children aged 0-5 years and their families within the Lower Mid-North coast region. 

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Child & Family health nurse along with the Aboriginal health worker partners with the local Aboriginal community to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. The successful candidate will job-share with another part-time nurse within the team and collaborate with the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service to provide continuity of care.

This role requires a skilled and adaptable communicator who thrives in a team environment and can effectively support families with complex needs promoting health equity in line with Closing the Gap initiatives. Cultural competence and an understanding of the unique health and social challenges faced by Aboriginal families are essential. Orientation, mandatory training specific to the BSF role, and ongoing professional development, including monthly clinical supervision and connections with other BSF teams within the Local Health District, will be provided. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal families in the community.


Requirements:
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in Child & Family Health with a post-graduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing.
