About the role


The Workforce Operational Strategic Unit (WOSU) supports the delivery of new government workforce policy, builds resilience and deliver significant projects and programs. Work that enhances the capacity and capability of the system to meet current and future needs. The unit sits within The Workforce Planning & Talent Development Branch.


The Project Officer will assist with the delivery of workforce projects and programs for the Workforce Operational Strategic Unit. This role will provide high level administrative and project support in the development and monitoring of workforce initiatives within the team.


Health Manager level 2, starting salary from $109,857 – $129,624 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38- hour work week. We support hybrid working with at least 3 days on site at St Leonards.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and implement impactful projects, supporting the project lead in the delivery of organisational goals.
  • Work within a dynamic project team, ensuring tasks are completed and project plans are implemented to deliver outstanding results.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, working with other operational contacts across the NSW Health system
  • Manage administrative tasks with precision, meeting business and project deadlines and adapting priorities as required.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, sourcing and collating information for insightful reporting, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure project success.


About you


We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Experience in providing project co-ordination and administrative support to highly complex projects in a large and complex health organisation.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience supporting the executive and statutory roles of NSW Health and portfolio ministers working in a high volume, complex and demanding professional environment subject to high level political and media attention.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and experience working through project portfolios in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach.
  • Excellent proven analytical and problem-solving skills in a health-related workforce operational setting.
