Where you'll be working
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within Health System Support Group (HSSG). HSSG is a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation to provide services to support the public health system in implementing Government targets and programs.

What you'll be doing
This position works within the Communicable Diseases Branch of Health Protection NSW and is responsible for the management of the NSW Tuberculosis (TB) Program and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Program. The manager provides clinical and public health leadership, management and review of both programs, and development of policies, guidelines and resources in consultation with relevant advisory committees, networks and other stakeholders.

Selection Criteria: 
  1. Extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of Tuberculosis management and prevention services gained in a clinical setting within public sector or non-government environment, including relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent. This includes extensive experience in public health program development, implementation and evaluation and policy development and review.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of communicable disease control and surveillance.
  3. Capacity to lead and engender enthusiasm in a multi-disciplinary team, to delegate effectively and to contribute to the success of others.
  4. Highly developed written and oral communication skills including a demonstrated ability to: prepare, review and edit correspondence, briefings, reports, scientific papers and proposals; interact effectively with management and external stakeholders; and to deliver effective oral presentations.
  5. Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately to achieve business focused solutions.
  6. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills and capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals and deliver high quality products within agreed timeframes and standards.
