The Environmental Health Regulation Unit has an opportunity for a talented Senior Policy and Project Officer to join its team of capable policy analysts. If you wish to be involved in a dynamic and interesting area where you can make an impact by developing environmental health policy, regulation, and advice, then this is the role for you. The role provides a unique opportunity to acquire new skills and gain experience in the areas of cooling water systems, skin penetration, final arrangements of the deceased, and anatomy facilities.
Health Manager level 3 starting salary from $122,850 - $139,559 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38 hours work week.
What you will do
- Provide expert advice on environmental health policy and legislation
- Manage several projects concurrently with varying timelines to achieve deadlines and program milestones
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the priorities and goals of the organisation and common objectives
- Make decisions based on scientific evidence or on first principles of public health relating to prevention of disease and risks to human health
About you:
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in environmental health, public health, or other relevant science discipline.
- Extensive experience in public and environmental health issues as they relate to environmental health regulation policy development and management.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake literature searches and critically appraise scientific evidence.
- High-level interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
