About the role
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within the NewGen Matrix Project in the System Management Branch, System Sustainability and Performance Division based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065.
A NewGen Patient Allocation Matrix provides a unique opportunity for NSW to better manage the distribution of patients across emergency departments, based on their capacity at any given point of time. This will reduce pressure on the health system and minimise the number of ambulances waiting to offload their patients. Paramedics will also be provided with real-time information to support their decision-making when selecting an appropriate destination for their patient’s care.
This is a temporary role, Health Manager level 5, starting salary from $166,678 - $186,448 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week. There will be multiple positions filled through this recruitment.
What you will do
The Senior Manager NewGen Matrix will be responsible for managing the progression of the NewGen Matrix project including and not limited to:
- Lead and manage the engagement of stakeholders to identify requirements and design for custom systems.
- Manage and facilitate interviews, small focus groups, working parties and other meetings with stakeholders ranging from front line clinical staff, community based clinicians, finance/revenue staff, IT staff and/or Health Executives.
- Proactively assess, identify and report any issues or risks that may impact the timely delivery and/or quality of the developed solutions to the Director, Operations and Program Support Unit.
- Lead and participate in multiple strategic Program streams by completing and updating project documentation; managing scope; adjusting schedules when necessary, in line with agreed program management governance arrangements.
- Provide subject matter expertise on developed systems and liaison between business stakeholders and development resources.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Superior skills and experience in managing all stages of the project cycle (planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as communications, health management, nursing, allied health, and experience working in a Local Health District and/or NSW Ambulance
- Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret highly complex information from numerous sources, exercise independent judgement in a dynamic interagency policy environment, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused and innovative solutions.
- Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging, collaborating and influencing key stakeholders and customers at a senior level to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes.
- Superior organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to lead and manage highly critical and complex projects. This includes meeting specified outcomes and time frames, while anticipating problems, developing contingencies and negotiating solutions.
- Proven capacity to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change, improve performance and project manage.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including demonstrated experience developing the capability of a team, establishing, monitoring and ensuring achievement of clear performance objectives, coaching and advising staff, and fostering a collegial, professional work environment.
