The Program Manager for the Discharge Patient Flow Concierge under the NSW Health Whole of Health Program (WOHP) is responsible for overseeing the state-wide coordination and development of the Discharge and Patient Flow Concierge program. This position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the program, from development through to implementation and evaluation. The primary goal of the role is to enhance operational performance across the healthcare system. The Program Manager will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, administrative staff, and policymakers, to ensure the program's success and sustainability.


Health Manager level 4, starting salary from $141,974 - $169,151 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.


What you will do

  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of discharge and patient flow concierge program to ensure a coordinated and targeted approach in the delivery.
  • Lead and manage the development, implementation and evaluation of strategy and actions to facilitate improvement in patient experience and safety within NSW Health.
  • Provide support to NSW Health facilities to improve access and patient flow performance with efficient use of resources which balances providing capability and capacity support to LHD/SHNs.
  • Provide support to the districts to address discharge challenges and issues in collaboration with MOH divisions, branches and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Provide expert leadership and advice on all aspects of WOHP support including preparing briefs, ministerial papers, related correspondence reports, meeting non-negotiable ministerial timeframes and project management plans.


About you


We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in health or clinical management, qualifications in process improvement with demonstrated operational and service improvement for acute hospitals.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project management including management of multiple concurrent projects and the implementation of state-wide and local innovative change management approaches.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and lead performance programs for multidisciplinary teams in a large and complex health system using strategic initiatives and appropriate resources.
  • Experience in driving Key Performance Indicator improvement through project and program management.
  • Proven analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports to deal with challenges creatively and achieve efficient and effective solutions.
