Selection Criteria 

  1. Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role or equivalent, demonstrated experience.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Health funding model, and NSW and Commonwealth health systems.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in financial pricing, modelling, purchasing and benchmarking.
  4. High level understanding of health data systems used in NSW, particularly those related to patient care and costing, with an ability to analyse data to guide policy development.
  5. Advanced knowledge of financial management principles, structures, processes and practice.
  6. Strong analytical and database modelling skills including advanced proficiency in Access and Excel databases.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to positively interact and influence to achieve best outcomes.
  8. High level written communications skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.

Things to consider when submitting application: 

  • To be eligible for employment in the role you must be one of the following.  You can only be offered employment in this role for the duration that your current visa allows you to work in Australia, and you can only be offered ongoing employment if you have a permanent visa that allows you to work in Australia: 
    • an Australian Citizen, or
    • a permanent resident of Australia, or
    • a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or
    • a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia
  • This position is open to internal NSW Health permanent employees, or temporary employees who have been employed as part of a merit based selection process for more than 3 months. 
    • Ministry of Health staff are part of the Public Service Group and employed under Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (NSW), and are not employees of NSW Health and would not be eligible to apply for internally advertised roles.

 

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy 
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
