About the role

  • Manage the data integration processes for government and ethically approved research projects.
  • Manage the Privacy Preserving Linkage processes and provide quality linkage results to assist in achieving project deliverables within agreed timeframes in accordance with the privacy law and relevant data custodian approval.
  • Provide expert advice, administration and technical support for clients of the NSW Health in relation to data requirements and specification, the data linkage and integration process and governance structures.

 

Health Manager level 2, starting salary from $109,857 - $129,624 plus Super, with a 38- hour work week.

 

What you will do

 

  • Perform Data Integration activities: Coordinate and perform extraction of records from data

repositories in accordance with relevant ethical and administrative approvals, including amendments and any additional conditions that may be imposed by Data Custodians for HSDS and other approved projects.

  • Perform Privacy Preserving Linkage (PPRL): Manage data linkage activities and provide quality linkage results to assist in achieving project deliverables within agreed timeframes. Work with other organisations to use PPRL for facilitating data linkage in other projects as required. Manage technical documentation for NSW Health data linkage program, as required.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Assist in the design, build, and delivery of data quality processes and

monitoring of quality control metrics specific to linked content. Provide advice, administration and

technical support for clients in relation to data requirements and specification, the data linkage and integration process and governance structures.

  • Maintain Data Security and Compliance: Adhere to the current Information Security Policy and

procedures, ensuring data security and that data releases comply with relevant ethical approvals and conditions imposed by data custodians.

  • Manage Data Retention and Deletion: Actively perform data retention and deletion processes to ensure compliance and efficiency. Assist with general database administration tasks and archiving of data for completed projects.
  • Provide Post-Project Support: Perform post-release support and assist other data integration

managers as needed.


About you

 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

 

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications: Possess relevant tertiary qualifications with a demonstrated experience in working with data across various industries such as health, retail, and government.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills, active listening, interpersonal and supervision abilities. Capable of effectively communicating with both technical and nontechnical personnel within and outside our business unit.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills for managing competing issues and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Experience in Team Collaboration: Have experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on sensitive issues to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Data Management Systems and Tools: Demonstrate proficiency in using modern data management systems and software tools, including hand-coded SQL scripting and other programming/scripting tools like SAS, Python/R, etc. is preferred.
