About the role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of Innovative Care initiatives to align with the NSW Virtual Care Strategy, ED Relief Initiatives and government priorities. You will work closely with senior leaders, clinicians, and other key stakeholders to drive Connected Care reform and enhance models of care, such as Collaborative Commissioning, Virtual Urgent Care and Hospital in the Home.
This role requires strong project management expertise, analytical skills, and stakeholder engagement capabilities to support decision-making and deliver high-quality health service outcomes.
What you will do
In this role, you will:
- Lead and support projects by developing, implementing, and evaluating policy initiatives aligned with the NSW Virtual Care Strategy and ED Relief Initiatives .
- Provide expert advice to senior executives, clinicians, and key stakeholders on Connected Care reforms, ensuring best-practice virtual health service delivery.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including consultation and collaboration with NSW Health teams, external partners, and government agencies.
- Develop high-quality reports, policy papers, and strategic advice to inform decision-making at the Ministry of Health.
- Monitor project progress and performance, including risk management, governance, and benefits realisation.
About you
We are seeking a motivated and strategic thinker with strong project management skills and experience in health system reform.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in health, project management, or a related field, with experience in managing complex health projects.
- Demonstrated project management expertise, with the ability to deliver virtual care or digital health projects on time.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex health data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with senior executives, write clear policy papers, and present information effectively.
- Proven stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with experience working with clinicians and other health professionals.

- Demonstrate your relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in health by describing a situation of when you are required to prepare advice to executives to support informed decision making and implementation of complex health reform projects. Provide example related to analyse and interpret complex health information from a variety of sources to make informed recommendations.
- Describe and provide example of your project management experience and demonstrate your ability to plan and implement complex Connected Care, especially virtual care and related projects or policies on time.
