About the role
The Integration Manager will be involved in the development solutions, applications as well as any other initiatives or ad-hoc tasks that are the responsibility the State Operational Data Store (ODS) Program Team within the Ministry of Health.
The Integration Manager will be responsible for reviewing business requirements, functional design specifications, developing and executing test cases, developing SQL to interrogate large and complex datasets as well as assisting the automated test case development.
The Integration Manager will be highly proficient and experienced with HL7 messaging, FHIR, integration technologies (e.g. Azure ESB, Mulesoft etc), Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development best practices) and delivering emergency, hospital and community care solutions.
The Integration Manager is responsible for:
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to develop and deliver robust solutions and provide technical support services to ensure continuous system availability and performance
- Analysing and improving current system integrations and migration strategies.
- Designing and developing solutions with cutting-edge Cloud technologies to integrate the ODS with external interfaces/systems (e.g., FHIR API, ESB, Azure Event Hub etc.).
- Managing Developers to deliver and support high quality code in a project and production support environment.
- Engaging with eHealth NSW to inform integration strategies for NSW Health and adopt best practices and software to support interoperability and integration between complex enterprise systems.

Health Manager Level 5 salary range is $166,678 – $186,448 plus Superannuation (11.5%), with a 40-hour working week.
What you will do
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to produce planning, analysis and design artefacts for allocated projects.
- Escalate risks and issues and provide input into contingency planning.
- Oversee end to end delivery of assigned projects and priorities to ensure adherence to scope and timelines.
- Manage project scope, quality, governance and a team of integration engineers proficient in Azure, ESB, and SQL
- Understand the NSW Health clinical data landscape and integrate systems with HL7/FHIR/SQL.
- Provide best practices for setting up and implementing a Mirth integration hub
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of the State ODS Program with the following experience and knowledge areas:
- Experience (>10 years) working as a Microsoft SQL Server developer or Integration Developer with emergency, hospital and community care solutions.
- Experience (>5 years) with database technologies and highly proficient in the use of SQL AlwaysOn Availability Groups and SQL Enterprise Editions with emergency, hospital and community care solutions.
- Experience (>10 years) working independently when required as well as in a Team based environment and managing Developers or Technical Support resources in a public health care organisation.
- Experience (>10 years) working in both project and production support environments with systems that manage emergency, hospital and community care.
- Knowledge about developing applications with a solid understanding of HTML, CSS/SASS, Angular, REST, ASP.Net, PowerApps, PowerBI, ML/AI.
