The Data Linkage Manager is to perform the linkage of health-related datasets and maintaining and managing databases of Centre for Health Record Linkage (CHeReL); provides timely and efficient administration, analysis, and technical support services for the Information Technology Systems, databases and applications for the CHeReL.

 

Health Manager level 2, starting salary from $109,857 - $129,624 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.

 

What you will do

  • Link health-related datasets; including using Choicemaker software with matching models that have been previously developed.
  • Test the accuracy of the model at different cut-off points for clerical review of uncertain matches to minimize false positive and false negative matches, at the same time keeping the number of clerical reviews at a manageable level.
  • Participate in the development and testing of new linkage/data management, quality assurance methods and software to improve the quality and efficiency of the CHeReL’s record linkage services and infrastructure.
  • Ensure that data are released in accordance with relevant ethical approvals, including amendments, and any additional conditions that may be imposed by data custodians.
  • Implement privacy and security protocols and related measures to ensure that the collection, use and disclosure of data by the CHeReL comply with relevant legislation and ethical approvals.

 

About you

 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in linking complex health datasets
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and demonstrated relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in undertaking a data linkage, data analysis, or similar role with a strong understanding of relational database technologies and SQL coding.
  •  Proven ability using SQL to process, manipulate and analyze large and complex datasets in a performant manner. In-depth experience in development and use of stored procedures and scripting languages (PowerShell / R / Python) is preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge or use of health or other complex related datasets in a data linkage context is preferred.
  • Well-developed organizing, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and supervision skills, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
