Visiting Medical Officer in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery

Are you a skilled Otolaryngologist looking to make a meaningful impact within a diverse and dynamic healthcare environment?
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a dedicated Specialist Otolaryngologist to deliver exceptional care in our outreach clinics across our region, including Maitland Hospital, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, Kurri Kurri District Hospital, and Belmont District Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Quality Patient Care: Provide effective, patient-centred specialist Otolaryngology services to meet the needs of our community.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Build and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, management, and patients to drive team success, facilitate change, and address concerns proactively.
- AMS Outreach: Participate in outreach clinics through Hunter New England to extend specialist care to rural and underserved areas.
- Education & Mentorship: Educate and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as multidisciplinary team members, in alignment with the standards of relevant training organisations.
- Operating Theatre Leadership: Adhere to the Operating Theatre Road Rules and ensure best practices in a surgical environment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- A primary medical degree registered with AHPRA.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or specialist recognition as provided for under the Staff Specialist (State) Award or the Health Insurance Act (1973).
- Medical Expertise: Recent and comprehensive experience in Otolaryngology, demonstrating a high level of skill and competence.
- AMS Outreach Services: Proven involvement in ongoing Otolaryngology outreach services in NSW, with a commitment to supporting underserved communities.
