As a member of the TRRH Maintenance and Engineering team, you will collaborate with a diverse team of skilled professionals, including electricians, fitters, carpenters, refrigeration technicians, and handymen, to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the hospital's facilities. Based at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital (TRRH) with potential assistance required at outlying sites.
About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for general plumbing maintenance within the hospital and healthcare facilities. You will be supported by a skilled multi-trade team and external contractors to ensure effective maintenance and operations. Key duties include:
- Servicing and maintaining thermostatic mixing valves, backflow prevention valves, and other statutory maintenance requirements
- Manage and perform new plumbing installations, coordinate external contractors
- Obtain quotes for spare parts and repairs as needed
- Participate in an on-call roster
- This position is full time; however, part time arrangements will be considered
About you:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled plumber with a broad range of plumbing maintenance expertise. You should be qualified to service thermostatic mixing valves (TMV) and backflow prevention valves. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, able to work independently, and take projects from start to finish. You will also need to monitor and ensure plumbing statutory compliance, documenting all servicing and repairs accurately.
- Completed apprenticeship and/or relevant trade certificate as a plumber, drainer, and gas fitter, or equivalent
- Licensed plumber status, supported by additional studies
- Certification or willingness to obtain thermostatic mixing valve and backflow prevention certificates
- Willingness to assist trade and Facility Management staff as needed.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW
