An exciting opportunity exists for experienced consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join Maitland Hospital Maternity and Gynaecology department. Our service has been caring for and supporting women, mothers and babies in the region since 1903 and are committed to providing culturally appropriate and sensitive care. We acknowledge and embrace the diversity of modern family structures and we have around 2000 babies born at Maitland Hospital each year. Maitland is one of the fastest growing non-metropolitan regions in Australia.
Maitland Hospital is designed to continue meeting the growing health service needs for Maitland and the surrounding communities of the Hunter Valley, now and into the future. Our hospital has been built to provide patients with high quality care in a modern and comfortable environment and it embraces technology and innovation, allowing staff new, improved ways to work that will deliver better health outcomes.
Our ideal candidates:
- Will be Senior Medical Officers with current authority to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) along with Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or nearing completion of FRANZCOG within the next nine months
- Will be patient focused, passionate, enthusiastic, innovative and optimistic
- Will pride yourself on your ability to communicate with respect to people from all backgrounds
- Will have a true commitment to and vision for the future of maternity and gynaecology services in our region. This role will allow you to be part of shaping the future of our service as we advance and develop Maitland Hospital.

- Will be actively engaged in professional development. This role includes the opportunity to engage in professional development opportunities at John Hunter Hospital, catered to your area of interest.
