We’re on the lookout for dedicated General Physicians to join our dynamic Department of Medicine. With approximately 4,500 separations per year, our department offers a broad and interesting case mix, supported by a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to excellent patient care.

Your role will include:
- Delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care to both admitted and non-admitted patients
- Participating in inpatient, outpatient, after-hours and on-call services as per departmental rosters—including Hospital in the Home and internal consultation services across HNELHD
- Engaging in regular ward rounds, clinical handover, clinics, and consults
- Contributing to a collegiate, team-based culture that supports professional development and collaboration
- Supervising and educating undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and multidisciplinary team members
- Actively participating in clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management activities—including M&Ms
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a primary medical degree registered with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP General Medicine)
- Brings recent and broad experience in General Medicine
- Thrives in a team-based environment and contributes to a supportive and collegial workplace
- Has a passion for improving services, training future clinicians, and driving quality care in a regional setting
- Is ready to contribute to the next chapter of Maitland Medicine, helping to re-establish it as a premier training location
