This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital. This role will see you provide high quality clinical services, including those of a more complex nature, with advanced clinical reasoning skills in the provision of clinical care. 

You will also exercise independent professional judgement in solving problems and managing complex situations. This is a great opportunity for you to gain experience within a unique caseload, with lots of support to develop your skills. If you have an interest in orthopaedic Physiotherapy, the team is very keen to help you upskill in this area!

Tamworth Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our 288-bed facility includes Intensive Care, rehabilitation services, a Brain Injury Unit, Diabetes Centre and high dependency unit.

The Physiotherapy team at Tamworth are very experienced and welcoming. The team works closely with other Allied health professionals to help give patients the best healthcare experience. It is a very social and supportive wider team! 

About You:

We are looking for someone who is dependable and passionate about their career development and is committed to continuous improvement. You should have effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills to aid you in providing high quality patient care as well as to work as part our dynamic team. You will also be a problem solver with the ability to analyse issues, set priorities and apply a range of options to develop solutions.

Requirements:

  • Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA

Additional Information:

  • *Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position. All payments made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.   • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. 
  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

  • To be appointed to level 3 you will need to demonstrate 3 years post-graduate clinical experience. Early Career Physiotherapists are encouraged to apply!
