Are you a motivated Registered Nurse ready for your next challenge in mental health? Looking to step away from shift work and into a role that offers a high degree of autonomy, professional support, and the chance to make a real impact? This is your opportunity to join the New England North West Acute Care Team, a forward-thinking, hybrid-model team redefining how mental health care is delivered in our region.
Why Join Us?
As part of the Intake stream within our Acute Care Team, you’ll work business hours only (Monday to Friday), perfect for those ready to leave behind rotating rosters while maintaining a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.
This is not your typical Registered Nurse role......
In Intake, every day brings something new. You'll be the first point of contact for people in crisis, ensuring timely access to care by managing referrals into, within, and out of the service. You’ll be part of a team that spans across the NENW, operating with both face-to-face and telehealth capabilities, bringing acute mental health services to communities when and where they need them most.
What You'll Get?
- A permanent, full-time Monday–Friday role
- The chance to step into community mental health while still working in the acute care space
- Supportive leadership from your Line Manager and Professional Leads
- Access to regular clinical supervision, in-services, and professional development opportunities
- A role that makes a difference—every single day
- 4 weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part time employees)
- Paid parental leave (for eligible employees) - giving you the opportunity for true work-life balance
- Salary packaging options - up to $11,600 plus novated leasing
- Fitness Passport for health and well-being - discounted gym options for you and your family
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members
Location Flexibility
While the position is based at Tamworth Community Health Service, we understand the importance of flexibility. Thanks to our hybrid model of care, site location can be negotiated for the right candidate across our NENW Mental Health Services (MHS) sites.

- Passionate about community-based care and improving outcomes for individuals experiencing acute mental health needs
