Where you'll be working
An exciting opportunity exists for suitably qualified, experienced and motivated individuals to join our newly formed Peel Mental Health Service Extended Care Team.

The Extended Care Team is a 7 day a week service which will consist of specialist: Allied Health; Nursing; Peer Worker; and Administrative Staff, in conjunction with Psychiatric Medical Officer support. We will provide service to consumers and their families/carers within the Peel Cluster of the Hunter New England Local Health District. As a clinician within the Extended Care Team you will work (a mix of morning and afternoon shifts) within a multidisciplinary collaborative to deliver: short-term acute/assertive input and support, encompassing: assessment, treatment; and care planning, in work with clients (and their families) who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and/or mental disorder.

Within the Extended Care Team – we will seek to strengthen collaborative relationships with key service providers, including: GPs; Community Managed Organizations; and Emergency Services to support the provision of excellent and meaningful care – with a view to fostering empowerment; resilience; and positive health outcomes.

In the centre of the North West Slopes and Plains of NSW is Tamworth, the city hub for the New England North West region, offering you all the conveniences of a city. . The temperate climate of the region allows you to experience all of the season at the centre of an agricultural area producing lamb, wool, beef and various crops with villages dotted around the area an easy option to explore on the weekend. Affordable housing is a reality and education options are endless with private, public, religious and special needs options with further education represented by two universities, TAFE and a community college.  With the population of 62,000 due to double over the coming decades the infrastructure including parks, sporting centres and a swimming centre will ensure you and your family have the foundation of an active and healthy lifestyle.

What you'll be doing
Provide safe compassionate person centred care within the unit/facility ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.

 

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and  expiry date of your visa

 

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

 

Job share arrangements will be considered.
