DACS is a specialist treatment service for people with substance use problems. Harm Minimisation is a key tenet of the model of care. It is a multidisciplinary service that includes nursing, medical and allied health clinicians alongside peer support and Aboriginal health workers. DACS operates in a range of community, outpatient and inpatient settings, providing prevention, early intervention drug and alcohol assessment and treatment counselling and case management throughout Hunter New England Health.
The role:
In this role, you’ll utilise your advanced clinical skills to assess, plan, and deliver high-quality, individualised nursing care. On any given day, you will be undertaking the assessment, monitoring, treatment and supportive care for people undertaking alcohol and drug treatment in a community health setting. In this capacity, you’ll provide recommendations for patients with substance use issues, enhancing care delivery and outcomes. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your expertise by delivering in-service training and contributing to the development of specialty clinical practices.
Requirements:
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willing to travel for work purposes.
