Where you’ll be working:
Community and Aged Care Services Greater Newcastle Sector Community Nursing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time position at Eastlakes Community Health Centre in Windale. As a member of our team, you will deliver community nursing services to clients within the Eastlakes Local Government Area (LGA), working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to individuals and families in their homes.
Located in the picturesque Lake Macquarie region, Eastlakes offers a vibrant community surrounded by beautiful lakes and natural reserves. The area provides easy access to recreational activities, schools, shops, and healthcare facilities, making it an ideal location for both work and leisure
About the role:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering person-centred, evidence-based nursing care that promotes positive health outcomes. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The nurse will maintain therapeutic and professional relationships with clients in their homes, ensuring high-quality care. Staff are expected to exemplify the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment through their behaviours and interactions with patients, clients, and colleagues.
Services provided by the Registered Nurse encompass wound assessment and clinical management, generalist management of PICC Lines, Portacaths, and Clexane, therapeutic medication management, palliative care support alongside other service providers, general nursing assessments, and referrals to additional services. The nurse will manage continence and urinary catheter care. An initial orientation period will be provided, with ongoing professional development opportunities available both in-person and online, supported by mentors, Nurse Practitioners, and Clinical Nurse Specialists
Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Eligible to drive in NSW with a current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to drive.
