Hunter New England Local Health District provides public health services to the Hunter, New England and Lower Mid North Coast regions of New South Wales. Within Tamworth Hospital, you will have the opportunity to learn and thrive within a supportive and dynamic environment. You will have the opportunity to work across: 

  • Antenatal and post-natal units,  
  • Birthing suite, 
  • Antenatal clinics, 
  • Midwifery home visiting services, and

You’ll be providing individualised women-centred care to maximise health outcomes and become a crucial part of bringing new life into the world, offering support to women and their families throughout the pregnancy journey.

You will have the choice to work: 

  • Full- time, part-time or casual;  
  • Temporary contracts, you can choose for how long
  • Within a specific unit or rotate pending your scope of practice.

  • Daily Allowances (LAFHA) - $118.15 per day (including days off if working full time or amount calculated at pro-rata if part time). This equals up to $827.05 per week extra.

About you

We are looking for midwives who are positive, friendly, enthusiastic, eager to learn and can work as part of a team.  

  • You will be passionate about women-centred care and thrive on making a positive difference to women, their families, and babies throughout the pregnancy journey. 
  • You will possess the ability to respond appropriately and effectively to challenging situations with the ability and commitment to support colleagues and patients alike.
  • Your high-level communication and interpersonal skills, alongside your ability to build strong, professional relationships with your patients will see you thrive in these environments. 
  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA

This is a Category A position. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
