About the role:
This exciting role will see you experience a dynamic patient load, where you will scan for 8 to 9 days a fortnight and spend the remainder providing radiography services. The examination type is very wide and always interesting! You will work closely with the Emergency Department with a varied caseload.
To aid your success in this role, you will receive support and required training from our existing staff, as well as in-house education and course attendance where appropriate. You will also play a vital part in training student sonographers.
On call duty is shared between all sonographers and includes weekends currently provided on a call back basis.

The Tamworth Hospital Medical Imaging department consists of 28 radiographers (5 of which are also sonographers), 10 nurses and 10 administration staff, with the ultrasound section having up to four other sonographers on duty. All sonographers spend part of their week performing radiography as part of injury management. The department boasts modern, state of the art equipment. Our team are friendly, sociable and quality focused, and we are eager to welcome you!

Requirements:
- Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent. Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/ current NSW EPA Radiation licence and ASAR accreditation
- Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
- Participate in the Rosters, overtime and on-call duties as required by the site, and which may change from time to time
Additional information:
- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
