John Hunter Hospital is seeking a passionate and motivated Post Graduate Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology to join the team, working in a major tertiary and teaching hospital in Newcastle, NSW. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop advanced subspecialty skills in gynaecological oncology with the aim of progressing to sub specialist certified Gynaecological Oncologist with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
What you’ll do:
- Provide clinical assessment and management of women presenting for treatment under the supervision of consultant staff
- Consultant with involvement of medical and radiation oncology services, palliative care, community services, general practitioners and other service providers
- Conduct outpatient clinics and operating sessions under consultant supervision
- Participate in after hours on call roster, appropriate clinical research activities, team activities including ward rounds, case activities and other meetings
What we’re looking for:
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG)
- Evidence of a desire to come a medical expert in the subspecialty of gynaecological oncology, previous academic success and compliance with the RANZCOG training requirements. Proof of entry to the CGO RANZCOG Training Program
- Understanding of and commitment to treating women with gynaecological malignancies with previous relevant clinical procedural experience
