Where you'll be working:
The Sustaining NSW Families program is supported by two vibrant multidisciplinary teams based across Newcastle/Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens/Raymond Terrace/Lower Mid Coast – Taree. Each site is seeking a Physiotherapist to join the team one day per week in a consultative capacity, contributing to a nurse-led model of care. The Newcastle/Lake Macquarie team is based at Wallsend Health Campus, while the Port Stephens/Lower Mid Coast team operates from Raymond Terrace, with travel required for case conferencing across the region. Both teams foster a collaborative, respectful, and supportive culture, creating a rewarding and positive work environment.

About the role:
In this consultancy role, the Physiotherapist will support Child and Family Health nurses, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team by attending case reviews and providing expert guidance on infant and early childhood development.

Case reviews take place on Tuesdays at Wallsend for the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie team, and on Thursdays at Raymond Terrace, Bulahdelah, or Taree for the Port Stephens/Lower Mid North Coast team. The role may be filled by one clinician across both sites or split between two applicants.

The successful applicant/s will be supported by the Manager, NUM 1/Co-ordinator, Social worker and the multi-disciplinary team. Ongoing education and orientation to the program will be provided at the commencement of the program and ongoing as required. Encouragement is given to participate in the Allied Health SNF meetings and specialty communities of practice.

Requirements:
  • Holds qualifications recognised for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and holds general registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia/AHPRA.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness and ability to travel for work purposes.
