Remuneration: $31.28 - $32.10 Per Hour + Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Cessnock Hospital Operating Theatres is part of the Hunter New England Health’s Rural and Regional Services. Our Operating Theatres perform elective surgeries within the specialties of General, Endoscopy, Urology, Laser Urology, Gynaecology, Dental, and Orthopaedics.

About our team:
You will work collaboratively as part of our skilled multidisciplinary team to provide non-clinical support to Nursing & Medical staff within the perioperative department. With initial support during the supernumerary period and Ongoing continued support from the Senior staff and Education team upon completion of the supernumerary period.

About the position:
The Operations Assistants maintain and sets up equipment that assists in patient care delivery and is responsible for the transportation of perioperative surgical patients between Recovery and Day Stay. Our Operations Assistant work with our nurses to ensure our theatres are clean and Equipment set up for each case. The operation’s assistant will also be trained to reprocess (clean) our endoscopes.

  • Have experience in care settings, cleaning duties, or general health/ care assistance.
  • Have proven ability to work independently, completing tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Have Strong communication skills, able to relate well and communicate respectfully with various stakeholders.
