The Manning Hospital Occupational Therapy Department has an excellent opportunity for a versatile, experienced professional to join their dynamic team on a temporary part time basis!


About the role

As a Palliative Care Occupational Therapist, you will deliver highly specialised services to patients under the Community Palliative Care team. You will play a crucial role in supporting patients' end-of-life care by working closely with Palliative Care Specialist Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health teams. This position also maintains a strong connection with the Cancer Service Occupational Therapist and the inpatient Occupational Therapy team.

This role is shared with a 0.4FTE Palliative Care OT, ensuring five-day service provision. Your responsibilities will include attending weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, effective clinical handovers, and providing leave relief for the Oncology OT role.


About you

You are a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist dedicated to delivering patient-centred end-of-life care. You possess:

  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • The ability and willingness to travel within the sector as required.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience in palliative care, complex equipment prescription, and pressure care (highly desirable).
  • A willingness to support less experienced staff and students.
  • A commitment to service planning, implementation, and evaluation.


Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in palliative care or a related field (desirable).
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and ability to travel as required.
