We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who thinks creatively to develop initiatives that enhance the cultural competence within our workforce!  



About the Role:
The Learning, Workforce Development and Engagement Program Lead within our Multicultural and Refugee Health team will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that expand the cultural competence of our workforce, educate clinicians on trauma-informed care, and engage stakeholders effectively.
This role will focus on addressing the unique barriers faced by multicultural, refugee, and Deaf communities in accessing healthcare.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with clinicians, administration officers, managers, and executive throughout Hunter New England 
  • Process Improvement: Continuously enhance the education and training by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions to improve interpreter usage, trauma informed care, and cultural competence of our workforce.
  • Design: Create new education and engagement processes to ensure we provide the best care to all patients and clients.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilise data and insights to help staff understand barriers to access, communication, and equitable health outcomes by Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, while sharing outcomes and successes to improve all services.
  • Project Management: manage multiple improvement projects, covering a range of clinical specialities at micro and macro levels, to implement significant change throughout the district.

  • You have experience in working in education delivery, grant writing, research, and evaluation.



Essential Criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, or education and/or significant relevant work experience

• Current NSW drivers’ licence, with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.

• Proven experience in working in culturally complex environments with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse populations (including refugees and/or multicultural communities), with a demonstrated understanding of trauma informed and culturally responsive care.
