About us:
Scone is a beautiful town 100km south of Tamworth NSW, known as the horse capital of Australia. Scott Memorial Hospital is a small district hospital with a busy Emergency department, medical ward and maternity unit. Scott memorial hospital staff are an integrated team working closely together to achieve optimal patient outcomes and gather for regular social club activities.
About the role:
Scott Memorial Hospital has one Operating Theatre, one anaesthetic bay, two bed PACU bay & four recliner chairs in the Day Stay Unit. The successful candidate will be working various rostered morning shifts within the week with a skilled & tightknit team to cover 12 theatre lists/month. The candidate will be working within instrument, circulating, anaesthetic and post-anaesthetic nursing roles for endoscopy, general surgery, minor orthopaedic surgery and gynaecology surgery. The unit also services an infusion unit 2 days/month and a pre-operative/post-operative surgical wound clinic once per month. Due to the unpredictable rostering schedule, this role also requires the successful candidate to orientate and will be rostered shifts in the medical ward and to assist in the Emergency department when required.

Upon joining our team, you will benefit from a comprehensive orientation program led by the NUM of the Scone Perioperative Suite. This induction ensures you are well-supported as you transition into your role. Ongoing guidance and mentorship will be available from a dedicated and collaborative leadership team, including the NUM, Health Service Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and the Rural and Regional Clinical Nurse Consultant from the sector.
You’ll also have access to continuous professional development opportunities, including attendance at annual conferences, internal training sessions, and external education programs. We are committed to supporting your growth and ensuring you stay at the forefront of perioperative practice.
Essential Requirements:
- Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed where applicable) with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
