Where you'll be working:
The location of the position is negotiable – Moree/Narrabri/Armidale and is with Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services. The successful applicant will provide a counselling service to clients of the Northern sector. The team consists of Nurses, Psychologists, Counsellors and Social Workers.

About the role:
The successful applicant will provide specialised counselling services to clients with a substance use disorder. There will be travel around the Northern sector to smaller communities to provide the service.

This role is supported by a large multi-disciplinary team. Education is provided monthly by the DACS team, clinical reviews occur monthly, and the successful applicant will be linked with a clinical supervisor. Ongoing education is also encouraged.

About you:
You will be able to work independently and have good time management skills. You will be willing to travel 1-2 days per week to outlying areas and be confident in using virtual care to provide treatment.

Requirements:
  • Must hold a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or Nursing or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association and full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), where applicable.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.
  • For Social Work, Counselling, and Occupational Therapy a minimum of three years experience is required.
