About the role:

This role will see you work 8-hour days, Wednesday to Friday. You will work closely with our allied health / nursing staff, and management, to coordinate activities and special events for our aged care residents.

Located 45km northwest of Tamworth, Manilla is a welcoming multi-cultural community, boasting a variety of cafes and shops as well as the renowned Manilla bakery. A family friendly city, housing is affordable and there are a variety of schools close by. Manilla Multi Purpose Service is a 57-bed facility providing a range of clinical services - including a 24-hour 4 bed Emergency Department, 13 bed acute ward, pathology, radiology and 40 bed residential aged care.

About you:

You’re an experienced Activity Officer with a background in Aged Care, bringing compassion, creativity, and dedication to your work. You have strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members alike. Your approach is person-centred, and you are passionate about supporting older people, including those living with dementia or disabilities, to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. You're also confident with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, and use digital tools efficiently in your day-to-day work.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV Leisure and Health or equivalent qualification.

  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. 
  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
