About the role: 

Step into a specialised part-time opportunity as the Cardiac Clinical Nurse Educator, working one day per week within the highly respected Critical Care Services Education team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.

In this vital role, you will champion excellence in cardiac nursing across the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Catheter Lab by delivering targeted education, mentorship, and clinical leadership. You will be supported by an experienced Nurse Educator and work alongside some of the hospital’s most skilled CNEs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

Reporting directly to the Nurse Manager – Critical Care Services, you will benefit from clear direction, regular support through MAMs and open feedback, and a strong team-based approach focused on capability building and workforce sustainability.

Where you’ll be working:

Tamworth’s Cardiac Service - encompassing the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Catheter Lab, is a cornerstone of Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, the largest health facility in NSW outside the major metropolitan centres. As a regional hub for advanced cardiac care, it delivers diagnostics, interventions, acute monitoring, and rehabilitation to patients across the New England and North West regions.

Supported by close-knit, collaborative teams, the Clinical Nurse Educator will play a key role across both CCU and CCL, driving clinical excellence and supporting staff development.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration and who holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.
  • Current Workplace Training and Assessment Cert IV or willing to work towards.
  • Credentialed as a DETECT and DETECT junior trainer or willingness to obtain.
  • Credentialed in Triage and ALS or willingness to obtain.
