About the role:
The successful candidate will be based at the centrally located Wallsend Health Campus and will be required to work Thursdays and Fridays in line with current staffing arrangements. This role involves conducting health assessments, managing staff injuries and illnesses, delivering health education, administering vaccinations, maintaining confidential health records, responding to health-related queries, contributing to policy development, and supporting staff wellbeing initiatives within their scope of practice. The position reports to and is supported operationally by the Director of Nursing, Integrated Care Service – Greater Newcastle and Lower Hunter, including participation in monthly accountability meetings. The broader service team offers support in education, training, quality, and research, and operates within the Excellence Framework. Orientation will be provided, with the opportunity to contribute to the growth and visibility of this evolving service.
About you:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated clinician with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, who can work both independently and collaboratively to promote excellence in staff health and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will bring advanced nursing and leadership skills, along with a proven ability to deliver high-quality clinical care in a professional and compassionate manner.
You will be passionate about providing advanced nursing care and committed to ongoing professional development. Your ability to build rapport, engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and contribute to positive outcomes will be key to your success in this role.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing qualifications or working towards in Staff Health related fields.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW with current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.

- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in the area of speciality to practical clinical situations and the development and delivery of education for a broad range of stakeholders.
