About the role:

This role will see you work primarily weekday shifts, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the imaging department, including adjusting resources as needed and managing unexpected events that impact routine workflows. A portion of your role will involve clinical work to ensure you maintain your professional skills and stay connected with the challenges faced by frontline staff in your department.

You will collaborate closely with the Chief Radiographers from Hunter New England Imaging’s Greater Metro sites, particularly in strategic planning and addressing complex, cross-site matters. You’ll also work alongside the Radiology, Nursing, and Administration managers to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, efficient service at the site.

Where you’ll be working:

A historic city located in the Lower Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Maitland boasts a rich heritage, and a variety of vibrant shops, cafes, and cultural spaces.

The Radiology Department at Maitland Hospital is a modern facility, established less than five years ago, and offers a full range of imaging modalities, with the exception of mammography. Staffed by over 25 full-time equivalent radiographers, the department performs approximately 65,000 examinations annually and operates 24/7 year-round.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong people focus, with the ability to understand and respond to the needs of both patients and staff while delivering a high-quality, adaptable service. While sound financial management is important, it’s a skill that can be developed in the role. A forward-thinking mindset and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and responsibilities are highly valued attributes.

Requirements:

  • Diagnostic Radiographic qualifications recognised in NSW
  • Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner (Diagnostic Radiographer) (current or eligible for same)
  • NSW EPA I14 Radiation Licence (current or eligible for same)
  • Extensive clinical practice in an imaging department (excluding Undergraduate and first 12 months post graduate experience)
  • Demonstrated recent managerial experience in a complex Senior Radiographer role, or Assistant Chief Radiographer or Chief Radiographer role
