Assessment Officer - Child Wellbeing Unit (Targeted)

Remuneration: $84,436 - $112,331 p.a (pro rata for part-time). + Superannuation + Salary Packaging

What’s on offer?
This position will take part in an innovative trial to provide specialist consultation and guidance via telephone to Hunter New England Health workers to promote evidence based, high quality responses to all patients / clients who have disclosed, or where there may be suspicions of, domestic and family violence.
As an Assessment Officer with the Child Wellbeing Unit within Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) you will also support healthcare professionals to identify child protection risks and plan responses to address risk and vulnerabilities. You will also appraise if a report is required to the Child Protection Helpline, help the health care professional to plan additional services and interventions, facilitate information exchange, and liaise with other relevant agencies.

The Child Wellbeing Unit is located at Wallsend and is a small but highly effective team. We operate as a single unit, functioning seamlessly to fulfill our objectives and deliver exceptional service. The Northern Health CWU takes calls from four different Local Health Districts between 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
