Responsibilities
- Assist electricians in installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Attending training sessions and complete coursework.
Requirements
- Completion of year 10 as a minimum with demonstrated competencies in Math and English and an aptitude for mechanical and technical tasks relating to the electrical trade.
- Must possess good manual dexterity and an ability to use the tools of the Electrical trade as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer skills.
- Have a demonstrated ability to take and follow precise instruction from their supervisors, this requires the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively and have the ability to work within a team.
- Have an enthusiasm to learn the Electrical trade, new skills and be formally trained through Department of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) in Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician.
- Completion of a pre-apprenticeship course, undertaking studies at a trade college or work experience in this discipline would be an advantage.
