Where you will be working

The Mater Mental Health Centre is an acute inpatient psychiatric facility for adults requiring mental health assessment, treatment, and care. The successful candidate will work in a high paced environment alongside a multidisciplinary team. As an Administration Officer, you will provide an efficient and effective administrative/clerical service within the centre ensuring a high level of service is provided to consumers and their families and carers. The Psychiatric Emergency Service Administration Officer provides administration support on a roster pattern of 12-hour shifts from 11am to 11pm every day. This temporary position will be responsible for 2 shifts a fortnight, being a consecutive Tuesday and Wednesday, 11am to 11pm.


What you will be doing:

As an Administration Officer, you will provide efficient and effective administrative support, ensuring smooth operations within the centre.

Your role will involve:

  • Managing inquiries via phone, email, and in person
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Coordinating correspondence and appointments
  • Supporting day-to-day administrative functions in a high-demand environment


About You:

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively under pressure and efficiently manage multiple competing demands. You will also possess high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of people and consumers. As well as a commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and high-quality customer service.

Training & Support

You will be supported in this position by the Administration Supervisor for administration specific support and operational support will be provided by the Psychiatric Emergency Service
