Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a 99-bed facility offering acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics, and a wide range of diagnostic and allied health services. The Paediatric Unit is an 8-bed general unit supporting infants, children and young people from across the Armidale and Northern Tablelands region. You'll be part of a friendly, close-knit team committed to providing exceptional care to local families.
About the role:
Do you love working with children and their families? In this rewarding role, you'll provide safe, compassionate care to infants and children in collaboration with their families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team.
As a Registered Nurse in our Paediatric Unit, you’ll be a key advocate for our young patients, helping them and their families navigate their hospital experience with confidence and support. You'll be expected to respond effectively to changing clinical situations, escalate concerns appropriately, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered
About you:
You’re a committed and compassionate Registered Nurse who:
- Is currently registered with AHPRA
- Has strong clinical skills, including in emergency response and paediatric care
- Thinks critically and applies evidence-informed practice
- Communicates effectively and collaborates within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritisation
- Thrives in a team environment and values family-centred care
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Valid and current Working with Children Check
- Ability to deliver person-centred care for paediatric patients and their families
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to learn and contribute to team-based care
