The Cessnock District Hospital, a 36-bed facility, provides vital medical services to the local community, including emergency, surgical, and general care. They are looking for proactive and dedicated Registered Nurses to join their tight-knit, supportive team. About the Role
In this role, you’ll be working across our medical and surgical wards, delivering high-quality, efficient, and effective care tailored to the individual needs of patients and their families or carers. You’ll play a key role in supporting informed decision-making, advocating for patients, and contributing to safe and seamless care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred care that meets the individual needs of patients and their families/carers
  • Act as a patient advocate and support informed decision-making
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals to support discharge planning
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition
  • Appropriately delegate tasks to ENs and AINs within their scope and competencies
  • Work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team


About You
You will bring:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • A strong commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient-first approach and a passion for continuous improvement in care delivery
