About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Transitional Nurse Practitioner (TNP) to join the outstanding team at Inverell Hospital’s Emergency Department. This is a rewarding yet demanding role, ideally suited to individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our rural community.

As a valued member of our team, you will contribute to a culture that prides itself on clinical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. You’ll enjoy a warm and collegial work environment, where humour and support go hand-in-hand with professionalism and purpose.

In this role, you will be instrumental in providing advanced emergency care within your scope of practice to the people of Inverell and surrounding regions. You will work alongside an experienced team including a Clinical Nursing Unit Manager, senior Registered Nurses, and Medical Officers. Comprehensive support will be provided through direct supervision and mentorship from the Health Service Manager, Nursing Unit Managers, and a wider network of Nurse Practitioners across the health district.

We are proud to offer:

  • A full orientation program and ongoing professional development opportunities

  • Access to a strong peer network of NPs and TNPs throughout the district

  • Connection to an established educational program via larger rural referral facilities

  • Dedicated administrative time built into your role

  • A seven-day service model, ensuring well-rounded exposure and experience

  • Strong preference for NPs, though TNP applicants are warmly encouraged and will be supported in their transition

This is a rare and fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a regional setting, while being backed by a collaborative and supportive healthcare community.
