Where you'll be working:
Greater Newcastle & Lower Hunter Integrated Care – Hunter & Lower Mid -North Coast is seeking a dedicated Nurse Manager to provide leadership to the Aged Care Services in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens. Based at Wallsend Health Campus, this role is integral to ensuring quality safe patient care is provided across a range of services including the Transitional Aged Care Program, Community Dementia Nurse team and Dementia Advisory Service
As the primary interface between senior managers of the service and front-line staff you will be required to support two-way communication through the organisational hierarchy, oversee the day-to-day management of the community service, and work closely with other Nurse Managers, Nurse Unit Managers, multidisciplinary teams and the Director of Nursing.
About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Manager with the ability to: lead, direct and co-ordinate client care; ensure the practice of nursing is safe and efficient, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvement initiatives; lead and coordinate the nursing and multidisciplinary care team, and monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the service. As the leader the Nurse Manager will demonstrate her/his capability through attitude, skills, behaviour and attributes, namely: broad nursing experience and knowledge; understanding and acceptance that clients are the central focus of service delivery; professional integrity; ethical conduct; accountability; advocacy; enabling others; cultivation of collaborative relationships and effective teamwork; commitment to advancing the profession of nursing and care provision.

The role will require you to utilise your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to different communication styles. Working within the Excellence Framework and Orientation Guidelines, the successful candidate would be provided with education and training needs, as required, to enable them to undertake the role successfully. The manager will have regular Monthly Accountability Meetings with the Greater Newcastle & Lower Hunter Director of Nursing. Specific education and professional development requirements will be discussed with the successful applicant during 30- and 90-day conversations.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current registration (or eligible for same) with AHPRA.
