Belmont District Hospital is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of a key facility within the Hunter New England Local Health District. This is more than a leadership role – it’s an opportunity to transform health outcomes for a growing coastal community.


About the Role:

As General Manager, you will take the helm of Belmont District Hospital, leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care. Your leadership will extend beyond the walls of the hospital, shaping services that meet the evolving needs of the local population while ensuring operational efficiency and clinical excellence.
You will be well-supported by a collaborative and engaged Executive Leadership Team, working in partnership to deliver on district-wide strategic priorities, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure alignment across services.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Drive service improvement and innovation across clinical and support functions
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with clinicians, community leaders, and local health stakeholders
  • Champion a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous learning
  • Oversee resource and workforce planning to ensure sustainability and responsiveness

What We’re Looking For:

  • Senior-level experience in hospital or health service management
  • A track record of transformational leadership in complex health environments
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health administration, in business or related degree with a health related focus and/or relevant equivalent extensive senior management experience in line with the position.
  • Experience in executive level management of health services with a significant background in health service administration including development and change management at a senior level.
