About the role:
As an After Hours Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding a large number of nursing staff outside of standard business hours. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and clinical excellence.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering education through a variety of modalities, as well as providing on-the-floor clinical support after hours.

To ensure your success in this role, you will be fully supported by a dedicated Director of Nursing and an After-Hours Nurse Manager. Additionally, you will receive supernumerary orientation shifts, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the workplace environment, team dynamics, and specific educational needs before fully stepping into your role.

Where you’ll be working:
Armidale is set high on the picturesque Northern Tablelands, located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, and is known for its beautiful tree lined streets and magnificent autumn colours and has a distinctive seasonal climate. The region offers diversity in outdoor activities such as bushwalking in the nearby World Heritage listed National Parks offering spectacular gorges and waterfalls in Australia.

Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Armidale Hospital is a 99-bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration and who holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.
  • Current Workplace Training and Assessment Cert IV or willing to work towards
  • Clinical teaching qualification or equivalent, extensive clinical experience in critical care or clinical teaching experience is highly desirable.

Additional Information:

  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. 
  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
