Selection Criteria

  1. Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent as recognised by Speech Pathology Australia and eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia, with advanced clinical generalist knowledge and extensive postgraduate experience and skills in Adult and Paediatric caseloads.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-based Speech Pathology services to paediatric and adult clients with complex communication and swallowing disorders within the acute, rehabilitation and general outpatient settings.
  3. Demonstrated advanced clinical reasoning, ability to apply professional judgement and Evidence Based Practice principles when performing novel, complex or critical tasks within the scope of practice of the profession.
  4. Demonstrated high level organisational, time management and prioritisation skills in an environment of competing clinical, supervisory and administrative demands.
  5. Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with proven ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate service delivery, individually or in collaboration with others, including quality improvement processes, and share the findings with other staff and stakeholders as appropriate.
  7. Demonstrated ability to apply and share professional expertise through the provision of effective clinical supervision, education and support to Level 1 / 2 Speech Pathology staff, tertiary students, Allied Health assistants, school based trainees and work experience students.
  8. Current unrestricted NSW driver’s license or equivalent, with willingness to travel for outreach programs, potentially with overnight stays.
