What you'll be doing

The role will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with children, young people/families/carers in a multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary approach to assist then to navigate the health system, achieve identified goals and outcomes for children and young people living in OOHC and/or who have complex medical and psychosocial needs and/or a child under 10 years with problematic harmful sexual behaviours.

How to apply 
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possibly:

  • Tertiary nursing qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Understanding of intergeneration trauma, child abuse and neglect and the legal and policy framework governing child protection in NSW.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating, negotiating and maintaining ongoing relationships with Department of Communities and Justice, NSW Police, Department of Education and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, monitoring, consulting, reviewing complex health management plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in prevention activities, community engagement and awareness raising initiatives and local workforce capability building and training (health and inter-agency).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines within defined resources and capacity to anticipate, respond and resolve complex and critical issues.
  • Demonstrated supervisor interpersonal, verbal and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills necessary to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and to work effectively within the multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Evidence of current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and a willingness to provide outreach throughout the Far West LHD.
