This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing
 

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 is a member of the multidisciplinary Child and Family Health Team. 
  • Work within a primary healthcare framework using a family partnership strengths-based approach
  • Deliver complex specialist Child and Family Nursing care
  • Lead the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery to provide family-centred care to children (aged 0-5 years) and families with complex needs. 
  • Provide support and development of transitional and newly graduated Child and Family Nursing staff across the Far West Local Health District (FWLHD)

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Current Registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing and Immunisation accreditation and at least three years fulltime equivalent clinical experience in Child and Family Health Nursing or such other qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively, both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proven expertise and understanding in delivering complex care and utilising advance clinical skills in Child and Family Nursing.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills, expertise and leadership in the area of speciality, including the ability to enhance Child and Family Health Nursing clinical practice and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurses Standards of Practice, Child and Family Nursing Clinical Practice and Competency Standards, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply the Supporting Families Early Framework, NSW Breastfeeding Policies, and the Child and Family Nursing Professional Practice Framework in practice, with a strong commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidenced-based practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, engage and deliver community health development activities.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at a high level, including verbal, written and interpersonal skills, as well as information technology proficiency, to deliver complex speciality services and drive innovative Child and Family Health Nursing practice.
