Skills and Knowledge

  • Appropriate tertiary (Masters level or Post Graduate Certificate) qualifications relevant to specialty with minimum of three years working in the speciality field of critical care, with current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in critical care and proven ability to provide clinical leadership in the provision and development of clinical practice utilising evidence based research.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, present and evaluate education, clinical procedures and policies to staff and the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with high level time management, problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication, report writing and research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice through planning, quality management and research.
  • Current driver’s license and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the Health District.
