What you’ll be doing

 

The Senior Finance Lead will partner with directors, managers and teams across the Cancer Institute to deliver budget and forecasting information and guidance, and work as a partner across the organisation to facilitate and prepare financial management advice for informed decision making that supports the strategic goals and organisational planning of the Institute. This role works closely with the Ministry of Health Pillar Shared Services Finance team to ensure the efficient flow of financial information is provided for the effective delivery of the Institute's outcomes, including information for services, contracts and projects.

In addition to base salary:

  • 11.5% superannuation
  • 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding and well-developed working knowledge of contemporary financial and budget management practices, including relevant legislation, policy and regulatory requirements, and procurement practices and application of methodologies in the public sector.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accountancy, business, commerce or, ora related discipline, or demonstrated relevant professional and financial management experience, preferably gained in a government setting.
  • Proven track record working to negotiate with and influence stakeholders, and a proven ability to convey complex and technical information in a clear and coherent way.
  • Demonstrated effective planning and organising skills and the ability to deliver multiple outcomes within tight timeframes where attention to detail is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing high quality correspondence, reports, publications, and briefs that align with Cancer Institute NSW requirements.
  • Experience and proficiency, or the ability to rapidly gain proficiency, using financial accounting systems and other Microsoft applications.
