Headspace Youth Access Team Worker

• Extensive experience working with young people plus demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of young people (12 – 25 years) and their families.
• Demonstrated skills in engagement with young people and carers to work holistically with them around mental health issues.
• Demonstrated experience in communicating (telephone, verbal and written) including active listening and motivational interviewing.
• Demonstrated experience in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team of health professionals.
• Ability to maintain linkages and networks with a range of government, community and corporate stakeholders to facilitate clear referral pathways for young people in crisis and at risk of mental health and drug and alcohol problems.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of computer applications for record keeping and accessing of information.
• Current Drivers Licence and willingness to travel to other locations within the District.
• Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
