The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking an experienced and trauma-informed Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Sexual Assault Service (SAS). This crucial role supports adults, children, and families affected by sexual violence by delivering integrated psychosocial, medical, and forensic responses that promote safety, recovery, and wellbeing.
Working within the Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) service stream, the Senior Social Worker will deliver crisis and long-term counselling, court support, and casework for victims and non-offending family members. You will also provide expert consultation and education to professionals and community partners, contributing to early intervention and prevention of sexual harm.
About the Role:
This role works closely with their colleagues and leadership within VAN Services and more broadly across the health service to facilitate recovery, integrated and trauma informed care that is holistic and seamless. Violence Abuse and Neglect on the Central Coast Our services are dynamic, innovative, and leaders in trauma informed, culturally safe and strength based care. We have a primary role of establishing stabilisation and safety for children, young people, individuals and families and work across the health system to support healing and recovery, with a focus on increasing capacity and wellbeing. About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the AAASW.
- You have a unrestricted NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel for work
- You will bring your experience and education as a Social Worker and be supported to grow and build your career through training, development and networks within supportive and high functioning teams.
- You will be committed to delivering exceptional health care and be skilled at building positive relationships and collaboration within the health system and the broader community.
- Skills and experience in crisis intervention and trauma counselling with demonstrated understanding of recovery frameworks, principles and practice of sexual assault.
