An exciting opportunity is now available for a Mental Health Nurse Consultant Level 3 to join the Mental Health Quality and Safety Team at Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). This is a high-impact role where your expertise and leadership will directly influence service delivery and clinical outcomes across the district.

 

About the Role

As a Mental Health Nurse Consultant (Level 3), you will deliver a complex and dynamic consultancy service across the Mental Health Directorate. In collaboration with the Mental Health Quality and Safety Team, you will:

  • Provide advanced clinical advice, guidance, and support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams
  • Drive person-centred, evidence-based practices that improve patient care and recovery outcomes
  • Support service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
  • Contribute to mental health policy, safety frameworks, and education initiatives
  • Act as a clinical leader and change agent to build capability and drive high standards across the mental health service
  • This full-time role is based at Wyong and Gosford Hospitals, working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm with no weekend shifts required.

About You

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a minimum of 7 years fulltime equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years fulltime equivalent experience working within a clinical speciality with postgraduate qualifications at master’s level in relevant health field.
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety principles
  • Proven problem solving, decision making and management skills relevant to the improvement of patient safety and the quality of nursing care.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence
